The Photo Section Interclub Exhibitions and Competitions

Tonbridge Camera Club Competition
The Photo Section has again been invited to participate in the Tonbridge Camera Club Intercontinental Competition. Four clubs will be participating including one from New Zealand and Australia as well as the sponsoring club from England. Guidelines for participating are posted with a deadline of February 1st for Photo Section members to send their entries by e-mail to Ralph Gurley at 33rrg@comcast.net with a subject of "Tonbridge Competition".

The images submitted by the members will be reviewed by an experienced judge to determine which ones should be sent to Tonbridge to represent our club.  After the entries from all clubs are collected by the Tonbridge club the collection will be sent to the participating clubs. The clubs will provide a judge or judges not familiar with the member's work for the final judging. These final scores will be combined by the Tonbridge club and the results will be provided to the participating clubs.

Glennie Nature Interclub Exhibition
The Photo Section of the Academy of Science & Art, Pittsburgh  is cordially invited to participate in the 30th annual George W. Glennie Nature Interclub Exhibition, which will be held by the Merrimack Valley Camera Club, North Andover, MA on Saturday, March 27, 2010.   The digital-only format is now well established as the Exhibition medium, as it provides more organizations with greater opportunities to participate in this event that has become a world-wide showcase of Nature photography.  As has been done previously, awards will be presented to both clubs and individuals for their meritorious achievements.

In 2009, the invitation area was expanded to include the all of the Eastern United States and Canada as well as Western Europe in addition to Australia and New Zealand with great success; as 95 clubs participated.  Visit www.glennie-exhibition.com to view last year's results.  The invitation area for the 2010 Exhibition includes all camera clubs and similar organizations world-wide. It is intended to provide many more clubs with the opportunity to participate in this premier event.  It is also hoped that the spectrum of Nature specimen will be increased, as well, for the information and enjoyment of all.  Images are to be submitted to Ralph Gurley at 33rrg@comcast.net no later than March 1st. Note in your email that the images are for the nature competition. Guidelines for participation have been posted.
